We are currently seeking an experienced Service Advisor to join a well-established independent garage in Basildon, Essex. Our client operates a busy, customer-focused service department and is looking for a professional individual who can deliver outstanding customer service while efficiently managing workshop operations. This role offers a rewarding opportunity for a skilled Service Advisor to develop their career within a reputable business.

Benefits:
  • Competitive basic salary of approximately £35,000, negotiable depending on experience
  • Achievable OTE of up to £38,000 with performance-based bonuses
  • Monday to Friday working pattern, 8am to 6pm
  • Saturday mornings (8.30am - 1pm) on a rota basis

Duties of the Service Advisor Role:
  • Manage customer service enquiries, acting as the primary contact throughout the service experience
  • Book in vehicles accurately, recording customer requirements and scheduling jobs for the workshop
  • Provide regular updates to customers on progress, timelines, and recommended additional work
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to promote repeat business and referrals
  • Ensure all documentation and work orders are completed correctly and in line with dealership standards
  • Support the effective scheduling and communication within the service department
  • Liaise with technicians and management to ensure smooth workshop operations
  • Promote additional revenue opportunities through professional upselling and recommendations
Requirements of the Service Advisor Role:
  • Proven experience as a Service Advisor within a franchised dealership, independent garage, or similar workshop environment
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to manage client expectations effectively
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy
  • Clear communication skills, capable of working collaboratively with technicians and management
  • Ability to upsell or recommend additional services professionally
  • Relevant experience in service administration or customer-facing roles within the motor trade
