Think Specialist Recruitment are delighted to be working with an existing client of ours to help them find a new Service Centre Team Leader to join their well established team. The successful candidate will need to come from a similar background, overseen a team of technicians, and have a background within service maintenance. This position will be fully based on site in Elstree.
Salary - £40-45k depending on experience
Monday - Friday
Some of the duties will include:
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the service centre, ensuring the efficient delivery of services and making operational decisions where appropriate.
- Manage and prioritise service workloads, including inspection, repair, and refurbishment activities, to meet customer and business requirements.
- Coordinate the refurbishment programme, ensuring quality standards are met, repair costs are controlled, and products are prepared for resale where applicable.
- Work closely with technical support teams to investigate and resolve product or equipment issues.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain appropriate stock levels and ensure the availability of parts and equipment.
- Review, approve, and issue customer quotations, responding to queries and providing excellent customer service.
- Approve sales and service orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
- Monitor departmental performance, producing regular reports and sharing performance updates with the wider team.
- Provide leadership support and deputise for senior technical colleagues when required.
- Contribute to departmental budget planning, forecasting, and the achievement of financial targets.
- Support the auditing and performance management of external service partners where required.
- Coordinate demonstration equipment requests with operational teams.
- Respond to customer enquiries via telephone and email, providing timely and professional support.
- Assist with the delivery and organisation of technical training programmes for both internal teams and external partners.
- Support warranty claim approvals in line with company policies and procedures.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of service technicians, fostering a positive and high-performing working environment.
- Set individual and team objectives, monitor key performance indicators, and support continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance reviews, regular one-to-one meetings, and annual appraisals.
- Manage employee attendance, holidays, overtime, and other workforce planning activities.
- Review and update departmental processes and procedures to support operational excellence.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role as required by management.
The suitable candidate:
- Previous experience within a similar position
- A service maintenance background
- Previous experience of working as a supervisor
- Strong communication skills
- Able to work to deadlines
- Capable of physical duties like moving machines and boxes
- Must be within a commutable distance of Elstree/Borehamwood
