Service Charge Accountant in South East

Join a professionally recognised surveying firm, providing property and surveying services to investors, owners and occupiers across both commercial and residential property.

The Service Charge Accountant - Real Estate will be responsible for preparing and finalising service charge accounts across an assigned portfolio of commercial and/or residential properties. Working closely with Property Managers, clients and external accountants, you will ensure accounts, budgets and expenditure are accurate, compliant and delivered within required deadlines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparing and finalising commercial and residential service charge accounts for external audit.
• Liaising with Property Managers, clients and external accountants to meet RICS/ARMA, lease and reporting requirements.
• Reviewing expenditure, identifying miscoding, and calculating accruals and prepayments.
• Preparing and reviewing budgets, year-to-date expenditure and service charge apportionments.
• Reporting and issuing service charge balances/excesses to clients and tenants.
• Raising appropriate fees and supporting Companies House filings where required.
• Providing financial support to Property Managers and clients across the portfolio.

ABOUT YOU
The ideal Service Charge Accountant - Real Estate must have:

• Proven experience preparing commercial or residential year-end service charge accounts.
• Good knowledge of service charge accounting and relevant RICS / ARMA requirements.
• Experience working with leases, service charge budgets and expenditure analysis.
