Care Service Manager – Adults with Autism & Complex Needs
Location: Loughborough, Leicestershire

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (42 hours per week)

Are you an experienced Care Manager, Deputy Manager or Team Leader looking for your next step into a Service Manager role? Do you have experience supporting adults and young people (16–17) with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs in supported living or residential care?

We are recruiting a Care Service Manager to lead a high-quality, person-centred service in Loughborough. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills and a passion for supporting vulnerable adults with autism, learning disabilities, mental health and challenging behaviour.

The role – what you’ll be doing

As Care Service Manager (Autism & Learning Disabilities), you will:

  • Lead, motivate and develop a dedicated care team to deliver outstanding, person-centred support.
  • Oversee care plans, risk assessments and support plans, ensuring they are individualised and regularly reviewed.
  • Ensure full compliance with CQC regulations, health & safety legislation and all statutory requirements.
  • Take ownership of staff recruitment, onboarding, induction, training, supervision and performance management.
  • Build strong working relationships with families, social workers, health professionals and local authorities.
  • Respond to safeguarding concerns, manage complaints and implement service improvements.
  • Plan and manage staff rotas to maintain safe staffing levels and meet commissioned hours.
  • This is a hands-on management role where you’ll balance people leadership, service quality, CQC compliance and day-to-day operations.



To be successful as Care Service Manager, you will have:

  • At least 1 year of management experience in a care or support setting
  • (e.g. Team Leader, Deputy Manager, Service Manager or Registered Manager).
  • Proven experience supporting adults or young people with autism, learning disabilities, challenging behaviour or complex needs.
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Strong understanding of person-centred care, safeguarding and risk management.
  • Excellent organisational, leadership and communication skills.
  • The ability to coach, support and develop staff, leading by example.
  • Flexibility to meet the changing needs of the service and contribute to a positive, supportive team culture.
  • Experience as a CQC Registered Manager or in a supported living / residential service for autism and learning disabilities would be an advantage, but strong Deputies/Team Leaders ready to step up will also be considered.
