ServiceNow ITOM Architect

Rate: £625 - £675 per day - Inside IR35
Location: Preston / Hybrid
Duration: 3 months, rolling
Clearance: SC Cleared - Sole UK Nationals

We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow ITOM Architect to provide architectural leadership across the design and delivery of ServiceNow IT Operations Management capabilities within a complex enterprise environment.

The successful candidate will bring strong hands-on ITOM expertise, with a particular focus on Discovery, Service Mapping, CMDB, Event Management, and Cloud Discovery. You will work closely with customer stakeholders, technical teams, and delivery functions to design scalable solutions aligned with ServiceNow best practice and business requirements.

• Lead architecture and solution design activities across ServiceNow ITOM implementations.
• Define technical architecture for Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, Cloud Discovery, and CMDB.
• Provide architecture governance, technical assurance, and guidance across ServiceNow delivery teams.
• Design secure, scalable, and maintainable integrations between ServiceNow and third-party enterprise tooling.
• Support solution estimation, planning, governance, and technical approvals.
• Work directly with customer stakeholders to understand requirements and develop effective architecture roadmaps.
• Ensure CMDB architecture supports service visibility, operational processes, data quality, and reporting requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to ServiceNow developers, administrators, and project teams.
• Contribute to solution reviews, bid responses, and client presentations where required.
• Ensure all solutions align with ServiceNow best practice, enterprise architecture principles, and security requirements.

• Proven experience working as a ServiceNow Architect.
• Extensive hands-on experience designing and delivering ServiceNow ITOM solutions.
• Strong expertise across:
  • ServiceNow Discovery
  • Service Mapping
  • CMDB
  • Event Management
  • Cloud Discovery
• Experience with Operational Intelligence would be desirable.
• Strong experience integrating ServiceNow with enterprise monitoring, infrastructure, and third-party tooling.
• Strong understanding of ITIL and enterprise service management practices.
• Proven ability to design secure, scalable, and maintainable ServiceNow solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and technical leadership skills.

• ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or Certified Master Architect (CMA).
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator and/or ITOM certifications.
• Experience working within regulated, government, or defence environments.
• Experience supporting large-scale ServiceNow transformation programmes.
