Setting Out Engineer – Arklow

The CSR Group are working with an established construction contractor who is seeking a Setting Out Engineer for a new residential development in Arklow, Co. Wicklow.

The project will deliver 74 new homes over an 18-month programme and is due to commence in approximately six weeks. The successful engineer will be involved from the early stages of the development and will have the opportunity to move onto further projects with the contractor upon completion.

€65,000 - €75,000 + Package

Responsibilities

• Manage setting out and surveying activities across the residential development.
• Set out housing plots, foundations, finished floor levels and site boundaries.
• Carry out setting out for roads, kerbs, footpaths and external works.
• Set out foul drainage, surface water systems, water mains and associated services.
• Coordinate ESB and other utility infrastructure requirements.
• Check line, level and positioning of works throughout construction.
• Ensure works are delivered accurately in accordance with drawings and specifications.
• Maintain QA documentation, engineering records, surveys and as-built information.
• Liaise with Site Management, subcontractors, consultants and the design team.
• Identify and resolve technical issues and drawing discrepancies.
• Support the delivery of associated civil engineering works throughout the project.

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous experience as a Setting Out Engineer or Site Engineer on residential or civil engineering projects.
• Strong setting out experience, ideally within housing developments.
• Experience with roads, drainage, water mains and surface water infrastructure.
• Knowledge of ESB and underground utility/service installations.
• Strong experience using Total Station, GPS and surveying equipment.
• Ability to confidently interpret construction and engineering drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.
• Able to work independently and take ownership of site engineering activities.
