A leading civil engineering and construction contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across Europe are currently seeking a Setting out Engineer to join their team on a large-scale project in Frankfurt.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out accurate setting out and surveying activities using Total Station, GPS, and other survey equipment.
  • Provide technical support to site management and construction teams throughout all phases of the project.
  • Ensure works are completed in accordance with design drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Monitor and record site progress, ensuring activities remain aligned with project programmes and milestones.
  • Conduct quality inspections and maintain detailed site records, reports, and as-built information.
  • Coordinate and liaise with subcontractors, consultants, and the wider project team.
  • Identify and assist in resolving engineering and construction-related issues on site.
  • Support planning activities and contribute to the efficient delivery of daily construction operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Assist with material inspections, measurements, and quantity verification where required.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years' experience working as a Site Engineer on heavy civil engineering, infrastructure, or large-scale construction projects.
  • Experience carrying out setting out and surveying activities on active construction sites.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and construction methodologies.
  • Proficient in the use of Total Stations, GPS equipment, and surveying software.
  • Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent organisational abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced project environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and standard engineering software packages.
  • Full EU Passport required.
