Sheet Metal Fabricator

We are looking to recruit several experienced individuals to support the expansion of a growing sheet metal fabrication department. Based in Pontyclun this investment will increase production capacity, improve workflow efficiency, and strengthen overall manufacturing capability.
The expansion will enable the business to respond more effectively to customer demand, reduce production bottlenecks, and provide the space, equipment, and resources required for future growth. It will also support improved organisation, safer working practices, better material handling, and stronger collaboration between fabrication, assembly, stores, and logistics teams.
Turret Punch OperatorThe successful candidate will be responsible for setting, operating, and maintaining turret punch machinery to produce accurate sheet metal components in line with production drawings and job requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Setting and operating turret punch machines
- Selecting and changing tooling as required
- Checking material specifications before production
- Producing components to drawing specifications
- Carrying out quality checks and inspections
- Maintaining safe working practices and housekeeping standards
- Ensuring production targets and quality standards are achieved
Brake Press Operators will be responsible for setting and operating brake press machinery to fold and form sheet metal components accurately and efficiently.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Selecting the correct tooling for each job
- Setting and operating brake press equipment
- Performing first-off and in-process inspections
- Ensuring components meet dimensional and quality requirements
- Maintaining a safe and organised working environment
- Supporting efficient production flow across the fabrication department
The role involves operating guillotine cutting equipment to cut sheet metal materials accurately and safely to the required dimensions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operating guillotine machinery safely and efficiently
- Checking material types, thicknesses, and specifications
- Working from cutting lists and engineering drawings
- Maintaining consistency and accuracy throughout production
- Inspecting finished materials to ensure quality standards are met
- Handling materials safely and correctly
- Supporting good housekeeping practices within the workshop
Applicants should have:
- Previous experience within sheet metal fabrication or a manufacturing environment
- Experience operating turret punch, brake press, or guillotine machinery
- The ability to read and work from engineering drawings
- A strong understanding of quality standards and safe working practices
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment
Rates of pay will be dependent on experience, skills, and overall suitability for the role. Individuals with proven experience in sheet metal fabrication, machine setting, and operating fabrication equipment will be viewed favourably.
Working Hours- Monday to Thursday: 06:30 - 15:00
- Friday: 06:00 - 14:00
