We are seeking an experienced Shot Blaster to join our manufacturing team in Ballygawley. You will be responsible for preparing fabricated steel components and welded assemblies for painting and final assembly, ensuring high standards of surface preparation, quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate automated and manual shot blasting equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare large steel components, chassis, hoppers, conveyors and machine assemblies for painting.
- Load and unload components using cranes, forklifts and lifting equipment where authorised.
- Remove rust, scale, weld spatter, contamination and other surface defects.
- Inspect blasted components to ensure required surface preparation standards are met.
- Carry out routine equipment checks and basic maintenance.
- Monitor abrasive media and maintain blasting equipment for optimum performance.
- Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and support production schedules.
- Follow all health, safety, environmental and quality procedures.
- Previous experience operating shot blasting equipment in a heavy engineering, fabrication, manufacturing or steel processing environment.
- Experience handling large fabricated steel structures.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and production documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Reliable, hardworking and able to work independently or as part of a team.
