Payrate: £13.69 p/h

Are you passionate about healthcare education and hands-on learning? Do you have experience in a clinical, healthcare, technical support, or simulation-based environment? We are looking for a Simulation Technician to support the delivery of practical healthcare and clinical skills training for students across our Health and Wellbeing programmes.

About the Role

As a Simulation Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring our simulation suites are fully prepared, equipped, and operational for teaching. Working closely with academic staff and students, you will support practical learning activities that replicate real healthcare environments.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who understands healthcare terminology and procedures and enjoys helping students develop their clinical skills in a safe and realistic learning environment.

What You'll Be Doing

Preparing and maintaining simulation suites, equipment, and teaching resources.

Supporting practical healthcare training sessions and clinical simulations.

Demonstrating and setting up clinical equipment, including oxygen delivery systems, cylinders, regulators, and valves.

Assisting students with the use of healthcare equipment and simulation technology.

Operating simulation software, iPads, patient monitoring equipment, and manikins.

Supporting simulated clinical scenarios, including mock injections, observations, and patient assessment exercises.

Setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting specialist simulation and IT equipment.

Ensuring all equipment is cleaned, stored, serviced, and ready for teaching.

Assisting with student open days, outreach events, and practical demonstrations.

Supporting health and safety compliance, stock control, and asset management.

About You

We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience in healthcare, clinical skills training, simulation, education support, or technical environments, such as:

Healthcare Assistant (HCA)

Nursing Associate

Clinical Skills Technician

Simulation Technician

Healthcare Education Support Worker

Theatre Support Worker

Ambulance Service Personnel

Military Medic

Laboratory or Clinical Technician

You will have:

A good understanding of healthcare terminology and clinical procedures.

Experience using or supporting clinical equipment.

Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.

Good IT skills and confidence using technology and specialist equipment.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to support students and academic staff.

Knowledge of health and safety requirements, including manual handling.

The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.

Desirable Experience

Experience within nursing, healthcare, education, or simulation environments.

Knowledge of clinical simulation software and technologies.

Health and Safety qualifications.

Experience supporting practical learning or training activities.
