About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Site Agent to join our team on a major piling and tunnelling project. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering a complex, high-profile infrastructure scheme, leading site operations while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, programme, and commercial performance.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of construction activities, coordinating site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.

Site Agent Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily site operations on a major piling and tunnelling project.
  • Plan and coordinate construction activities to achieve programme milestones.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Manage site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor productivity, programme, and resource allocation.
  • Identify and manage project risks, implementing mitigation measures where required.
  • Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, and permits.
  • Liaise with clients, designers, statutory authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure works are delivered in accordance with contract specifications and engineering standards.
  • Support commercial teams with progress reporting, change management, and cost control.
  • Produce accurate site records, reports, and programme updates.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and lead by example.

Site Agent Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Site Agent on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of piling, tunnelling, heavy civil engineering, or geotechnical works.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple work fronts in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts is desirable.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Competent in planning and reporting using Microsoft Office and relevant construction software.

Qualifications needed 

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • SMSTS.
  • CSCS Managers Card.
  • First Aid at Work (desirable).
  • Temporary Works Coordinator (desirable).
  • Full UK driving licence.
