About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Site Agent to join our team delivering clean water infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity to lead the construction of essential assets that provide safe, reliable drinking water to communities.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Projects may include water treatment works, pumping stations, service reservoirs, clean water pipelines, network upgrades, pressure management schemes, and associated civil engineering works.
Site Agent Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of clean water infrastructure projects.
- Lead Site Engineers, Sub Agents, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely and efficiently.
- Plan and coordinate site activities to achieve programme and contractual milestones.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Review and implement Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and ensure safe systems of work are followed.
- Manage labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors to maximise productivity and project performance.
- Monitor programme progress and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and mitigate risks.
- Ensure all works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and water industry standards.
- Coordinate with designers, client representatives, operational teams, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Support commercial management by identifying variations, compensation events, and change requirements.
- Maintain accurate site records, inspection reports, quality documentation, and progress updates.
- Oversee inspections, testing, commissioning, and project handover activities.
- Promote a positive safety culture and drive continuous improvement across the project.
Site Agent Requirements
- Previous experience as a Site Agent within the water, utilities, or civil engineering sector.
- Experience delivering clean water infrastructure projects, such as water treatment works, pumping stations, service reservoirs, or water pipelines.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, environmental, and quality management.
- Good knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial awareness.
- Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams.
- Strong planning, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications needed
- Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- SMSTS.
- CSCS Managers Card.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Blue EUSR.
- Temporary Works Coordinator and First Aid at Work qualifications are desirable.
