The Role
As a Site Agent, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of water treatment and associated civil engineering works, overseeing day-to-day site operations to ensure projects are completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with the Project Manager, you'll lead site teams, coordinate subcontractors, and drive performance to achieve key project milestones while maintaining full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
Site Agent Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day delivery of water treatment and associated civil engineering works.
- Leading site teams, including Site Engineers, General Foremen, and subcontractors.
- Planning and coordinating works to ensure programme milestones are achieved.
- Ensuring all works are delivered safely and in accordance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Managing temporary works, permits, inspections, and site documentation.
- Reviewing drawings and specifications and resolving technical queries with the design team.
- Monitoring progress, productivity, and costs, reporting regularly to the Project Manager.
- Managing subcontractor performance and ensuring works are completed to specification.
- Producing and reviewing RAMS, QA documentation, and site records.
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with the client and key project stakeholders.
Site Agent Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Agent on water, utilities, or heavy civil engineering projects.
- Strong background delivering reinforced concrete structures, pipelines, and water treatment infrastructure.
- Excellent knowledge of NEC contracts and construction delivery processes.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Experience managing site teams and subcontractors on live infrastructure projects.
- Good understanding of QA procedures, programme management, and commercial awareness.
- SMSTS certification (essential).
- CSCS Card (essential).
- Temporary Works Coordinator and First Aid qualifications are desirable.
- Full UK driving licence.
