A leading UK civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Site Agent/Manager to manage construction sites and deliver projects across the Civils and Water sectors to the required quality, programme, and commercial performance.
Responsibilities of Site Agent/Manager:
- Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of projects across the Civils and Water sectors
- Lead a team of Sub Agents, Engineers, and Foremen to deliver work safely, without environmental incidents, and to the specified quality
- Produce and manage construction programmes, 2-week look-aheads, and procurement schedules
- Ensure production and implementation of Project Plans, RAMS, ITPs, and Waste Management Plans
- Maximise commercial performance, identify value engineering opportunities, and maintain commercial tension
- Produce accurate monthly reports internally and for the client, and chair weekly site meetings
- Represent the business in an ambassadorial capacity to customers, the public, and official bodies
- Ensure detailed site diaries and records are completed throughout
Essential Requirements for Site Agent/Manager:
- Proven experience as a Site Agent within civil engineering, delivering projects in a highly regulated environment
- Working knowledge of CDM regulations, Design Management, Programme and Risk Management, and cost control
- Good knowledge of specifications and testing regimes relevant to civil engineering
- Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- CSCS card, IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS, Temporary Works Coordinator, and Confined Space training
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills
Desirable:
- CEng MICE or equivalent
- Knowledge of Primavera P6
- Understanding of JCT and NEC forms of contract
