Are you an experienced Civil Setting Out Engineer with previous experience working on National Grid sites?

We are recruiting for a Resident Engineer / Civil Setting Out Engineer to join a major energy infrastructure project in Rotherham, supporting the delivery of civil engineering works on a National Grid site.

This role requires an experienced engineer who is confident undertaking setting out activities, managing technical drawings and supporting the site team with engineering documentation and technical queries.

Job Role

• Carry out accurate setting out of lines, levels and civil engineering works using surveying equipment.
• Review and manage civil engineering drawings, ensuring the latest revisions are available to the site team.
• Act as Document Controller for all civil engineering drawings and associated technical documentation.
• Assist with constructability reviews alongside the civil engineering site team.
• Raise and manage Technical Queries (TQs) to resolve design and construction issues.
• Support the civil engineering team with obtaining quotations and raising orders.
• Produce accurate as-built drawings and maintain engineering records.
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with National Grid Technical Specifications (NGTS).
• Liaise with site engineers, subcontractors and project teams to support successful project delivery.

Requirements

• Previous experience working on a National Grid site is essential.
• Strong civil engineering setting out experience, including line and level.
• Proficient in using surveying equipment, including Total Stations and other relevant instruments.
• Good working knowledge of National Grid Technical Specifications (NGTS).
• Experience managing civil engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Ability to raise Technical Queries and support constructability reviews.
• Experience producing as-built drawings.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Must have own PPE to access site.
