Site Engineer

Force Contracting Services are looking for an experienced Site Engineers to join a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Kilmarnock.
The project is due to commence in mid-September 2026 and is expected to run for approximately 2 years.
The successful candidates will have a strong civil engineering background, relevant experience working on BESS sites, and experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects.

- Enabling works
- Site preparation
- Earthworks
- Drainage
- Access roads
- Hardstanding
- Equipment foundations
- Fencing foundations
- Ducting and trenching
- Reinstatement
- All associated civil works required to provide a complete and operational BESS site
Responsibilities:
- Setting out and surveying civil engineering works, including levels, coordinates and dimensional checks.
- Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications, providing technical support to the Site Manager and Project Manager.
- Working closely with subcontractors and site teams to monitor progress and ensure works are delivered to the required standards and tolerances.
- Maintaining site records, QA documentation and inspection records.
- Identifying technical issues and supporting the planning, sequencing and delivery of works.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer on major civil engineering projects, with relevant experience working on BESS sites.
- Strong setting-out and surveying skills with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Good understanding of civil works including earthworks, drainage, roads, foundations and ducting.
- Relevant engineering qualification and CSCS.
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
