We are seeking a motivated and technically capable Site Engineer to join our Clients Construction Project Delivery team. Reporting to the Project Manager or Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day engineering management of allocated works, ensuring construction activities are delivered safely, accurately, on programme, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.
Acting as the key link between design teams, site operations, subcontractors and project management, you will provide technical support throughout the construction process, helping to drive right-first-time delivery and successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out setting out, dimensional control and surveying activities using Total Stations, GPS and other surveying equipment.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications and technical information, raising RFIs and resolving technical issues as required.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), quality standards and project specifications.
- Complete quality inspections, maintain accurate records and produce as-built documentation.
- Support the delivery of health, safety and environmental objectives through risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
- Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors to support efficient project delivery.
- Monitor progress against programme and assist in identifying and mitigating project risks.
- Maintain site diaries, engineering records, drawing registers and technical trackers.
- Work closely with project managers, designers, clients and supply chain partners to resolve issues and maintain project momentum.
- Support successful project handover through accurate documentation and quality assurance processes.
About You
- Previous experience as a Site Engineer, Assistant Site Engineer or similar construction engineering role.
- Strong setting out and surveying experience.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Understanding of quality assurance, inspections and as-built documentation.
- HNC, HND or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline.
- Valid CSCS Card.
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
- Experience working for a Tier 1 contractor or major infrastructure contractor.
- Knowledge of digital engineering systems and Common Data Environments (CDEs).
- Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS) or SSSTS qualification.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
