Site Engineer

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join a major highways scheme in Colchester, working as part of a high-profile infrastructure project.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior engineering support across a major highways scheme.
• Oversee engineering activities and ensure works are delivered to programme and required standards.
• Work closely with site teams, subcontractors, designers and project management.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical information.
• Monitor quality, progress and compliance across the works.
• Identify and resolve technical issues effectively.
• Support the successful delivery of the project from an engineering perspective.

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Senior Engineer on major highways/civil engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of highways construction and engineering principles.
• Experience working on large-scale infrastructure schemes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Relevant engineering qualifications and/or professional accreditation desirable.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of engineering activities.

The Opportunity

• £350–£400 per day
• Outside IR35
• 12-month contract
• Start: 24 August 2026
