Site Engineer in Northumberland

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a major data centre construction project in Blyth, Northumberland, working with a highly established main contractor specialising in technically complex construction and mission-critical environments.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to join a major project within the rapidly expanding UK data centre sector, working as part of a professional and technically strong project team.
As Site Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the engineering delivery of the project, ensuring works are accurately set out, technically coordinated and delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting out and surveying works on site
- Checking drawings, specifications and technical information
- Supporting the delivery team with engineering and technical queries
- Carrying out quality checks and ensuring works are delivered to specification
- Liaising with subcontractors, design teams and the wider project team
- Producing and maintaining accurate site records and engineering documentation
- Assisting with the coordination of civil, structural and MEP interfaces
- Monitoring progress and identifying technical issues before they impact programme
- Supporting the resolution of RFIs and technical queries
- Working closely with the project management and construction teams to ensure safe and efficient delivery
Ideally, you will have:
- A degree/HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction or a related discipline
- Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on major construction projects
- Strong setting-out experience
- Experience using surveying equipment
- Good understanding of construction drawings and specifications
- Strong AutoCAD and Microsoft Office skills
- Experience working with BIM environments would be advantageous
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary site team
