We’re currently working with a leading civil engineering contractor delivering key infrastructure works on Sizewell C. They’re seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join the highways and civils delivery team. The role is site-based in Leiston, Suffolk and offers a long-term opportunity on one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects.

About the Role:

As a Senior Engineer, you’ll report to the Site Agent/Project Manager and be responsible for overseeing site engineering, managing trainee/junior engineers, and ensuring that all works meet the required design, technical and quality specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise engineering delivery on-site ensuring works are completed to programme and specification

  • Coordinate setting-out requirements and provide technical support across civil packages (drainage, ducting, kerbs, footways, pavements, lighting)

  • Prepare and review RAMS, ITPs, QA records, and technical queries (TQs)

  • Manage material procurement, TQs, and Material Approval Requests (MARs)

  • Liaise with the Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) to manage temporary works requirements and compliance

  • Identify and resolve engineering challenges to avoid delays or rework

  • Lead Quality Readiness Reviews and final handover documentation

  • Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and site safety procedures

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Senior Engineer or similar on major civils/highways schemes

  • Strong understanding of the Specification for Highway Works and relevant testing procedures

  • Experience delivering works across earthworks, drainage, ducting, kerbing, streetworks, etc.

  • Competent using Fieldview, Dalux or similar mobile quality tools

  • Familiar with design software (AutoCAD, Autodesk, Sketchup – desirable)

Qualifications:

  • Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)

  • CSCS card (relevant category)

  • SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely

  • Full UK Driving Licence

  • ICE Membership (desirable)
