Site Engineer / Surveyor – Devonport Royal Dockyard
Role overview:
A leading civil engineering contractor is seeking a Site Engineer/Surveyor to join a major infrastructure project at Devonport Royal Dockyard, Plymouth. This is an opportunity to work on a nationally significant naval infrastructure programme within a secure, high-profile environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Carry out setting out, levelling, and surveying using Total Station and GPS equipment
- Ensure works are constructed to design specification and within tolerance
- Maintain accurate as-built records and site documentation
- Liaise with site management, subcontractors, and the design team on technical matters
- Support quality control and compliance with method statements
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and site security requirements (site access may require security clearance/vetting)
Requirements:
- Degree, HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Proven setting out/surveying experience on major infrastructure or civils projects
- Proficiency with Leica/Trimble Total Stations, GPS, and AutoCAD/Civil 3D
- CSCS card; SSSTS/SMSTS desirable
- Eligibility to obtain security clearance (BPSS/SC), given the nature of the site
- Full UK driving licence
