Site Manager in Wigan, Greater Manchester

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager on behalf of our client, an established and growing civil engineering and groundworks contractor.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on Site Manager to take responsibility for the successful delivery of groundworks and civil engineering projects, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme and to a high standard.

Our client is open to both freelance and permanent candidates, with long-term opportunities available for the right individual.

• Overseeing the day-to-day management of site operations.

  
  
  

• Managing groundworks, drainage, foundations, infrastructure and associated civil engineering packages.

  
  
  

• Coordinating site teams, subcontractors, plant and materials.

  
  
  

• Ensuring works are delivered safely, on time and within programme.

  
  
  

• Maintaining high standards of health & safety and site compliance.

  
  
  

• Conducting site inductions, toolbox talks and daily briefings.

  
  
  

• Liaising with Project Managers, Engineers, clients and subcontractors.

  
  
  

• Monitoring progress, identifying potential issues and implementing solutions.

  
  
  

• Ensuring quality standards and project specifications are consistently met.

  
  
  

• Maintaining accurate site records and reporting on progress.

  
  
  

• Proven experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering or groundworks.

  
  
  

• Strong technical knowledge of groundworks, drainage and infrastructure projects.

  
  
  

• Experience managing site teams and subcontractors.

  
  
  

• Ability to read and interpret drawings and construction programmes.

  
  
  

• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.

  
  
  

• SMSTS qualification.

  
  
  

• CSCS Card.

  
  
  

• First Aid at Work.

  
  
  

• Full UK driving licence preferred.
