Salary: £60,000 + £5,400 Car Allowance/Company Vehicle + Package

The Opportunity

An established Civil Engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join its delivery team, working across a long-term water infrastructure framework throughout Devon and Cornwall.
You'll be responsible for schemes valued between £50k and £2m, covering pipelines, reservoirs, pumping stations, screens, runways and associated civil engineering works.
This position will suit a Site Manager who knows the water utilities sector well, is comfortable overseeing several schemes at once and can maintain high standards of safety, quality, programme and commercial performance in a busy framework environment.

What You'll Be Doing

Taking ownership of multiple live projects, you'll manage delivery from site mobilisation through to completion, working closely with operational, commercial and client teams.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Overseeing multiple clean water and wastewater infrastructure schemes.
  • Managing site teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners to maintain safe and productive delivery.
  • Planning and coordinating programmes to meet agreed milestones and client deadlines.
  • Working alongside commercial teams to track budgets, forecasts and project performance under NEC contracts.
  • Contributing during pre-construction through site surveys, buildability assessments and technical input.
  • Coordinating with local authorities, highways teams and statutory undertakers as required.
  • Attending client meetings and communicating progress throughout project delivery.
  • Maintaining compliance with Health & Safety legislation, CDM regulations and temporary works procedures.
  • Producing and reviewing RAMS, project documentation and site records.
  • Completing regular inspections, quality checks and safety audits.
  • Monitoring KPIs and SLAs while maintaining agreed standards across each scheme.
What We're Looking For

You'll be an experienced Civil Engineering Site Manager with a proven history of delivering projects within the water utilities sector. Clean water and/or wastewater experience is essential, alongside the ability to coordinate multiple projects and build effective working relationships with clients, subcontractors and operational teams.

Ideally, you'll bring:
  • Essential experience delivering water utilities infrastructure projects, covering clean water and/or wastewater schemes.
  • Previous involvement in project delivery within a water framework environment.
  • A solid civil engineering and utilities background.
  • Good working knowledge of NEC contracts, preferably NEC4.
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, CDM requirements and temporary works.
  • Experience overseeing several live projects concurrently.
  • Good commercial awareness and programme management capability.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • An HNC, HND, NVQ or Degree in a construction-related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • SMSTS, CSCS, Streetworks and other relevant site management qualifications.
