The Opportunity
Our client is an established European leader in modern construction methods, recognized for their engineering precision and "building as a product" philosophy. Combining design, off-site manufacturing, and high-efficiency assembly, they deliver large-scale commercial and industrial real estate projects across Europe.
As their presence across the UK expands, they are seeking an experienced and disciplined Site Manager to oversee a major project in Corby. This role requires a professional who can maintain rigorous standards of safety, quality, and program delivery on-site.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Operations: Oversee day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring works strictly align with project schedules, technical specifications, and quality standards.
- Health & Safety Management: Drive an uncompromising health, safety, and environmental culture across the site, ensuring full compliance with UK regulations and company standards.
- Subcontractor Supervision: Coordinate and manage specialized subcontractors and package managers to ensure efficient workflow and high workmanship.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections, managing snagging lists and ensuring off-site manufactured components are installed to exact engineering tolerances.
- Progress Reporting: Maintain detailed daily site logs, track key performance indicators, and provide regular progress updates to the Senior Project Manager.
- Commercial Awareness: Assist in controlling on-site costs, minimizing material waste, and identifying potential risks to project timelines.
Your Profile
- Experience: Proven track record as a Site Manager delivering commercial, logistics, or industrial construction projects. Experience with steel-frame structures or precast concrete systems is highly advantageous.
- Qualifications: Valid CSCS Black Card, SMSTS, and First Aid at Work certifications. A degree or HND/HNC in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and architectural specifications. Familiarity with BIM and digital site tools is desirable.
- Leadership: Strong leadership capability with the authority to enforce safety standards and drive site productivity effectively.
- Communication: Clear, direct communication skills for managing site personnel, subcontractors, and client representatives.
