I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Site Manager to join a leading contractor on a high-profile residential apartment development in Manchester.

This role will focus on managing the external works package, so I'm keen to speak with Site Managers who have a proven track record of delivering external works on residential schemes.

The Role

You'll be responsible for overseeing all external works on site, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing all external works packages from start through to completion.
• Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring works are completed in line with programme.
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and quality.
• Conducting site inspections and quality checks.
• Liaising with the Project Manager, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Monitoring progress and resolving any site issues proactively.
• Ensuring accurate site records and reporting.

Experience Required

• Previous experience as a Site Manager on residential apartment developments.
• Strong background managing external works, including:
  • Roads and sewers
  • Hard and soft landscaping
  • Kerbing and paving
  • Drainage
  • Utilities and service installations
  • Boundary treatments
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Able to drive programme while maintaining quality and safety.

Essential Qualifications

• SMSTS
• CSCS Managers Card
• First Aid at Work
