Freelance Site Supervisor – Civil Engineering

We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Site Supervisor to support the delivery of a civil engineering scheme based in Teesside.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme and quality requirements.

• Supervise site activities and subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely and to specification.
• Coordinate daily site operations and monitor progress against programme.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards at all times.
• Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks and daily briefings.
• Liaise with the Site Manager, engineers, client representatives and supply chain partners.
• Maintain accurate site records, including diaries, permits and inspection documentation.
• Identify and resolve site issues proactively to minimise delays and disruption.
• Ensure materials, plant and labour resources are effectively managed.

• Proven experience supervising civil engineering projects, ideally including roads, drainage, earthworks or infrastructure schemes.
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and site management procedures.
• Valid SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
• CSCS card (Supervisor/Manager level preferred).
• First Aid at Work certification desirable.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple work fronts.
