Location: Preston, Lancashire

Contract: Full-Time, Temp-to-Perm, All Year Round (Includes School Holidays)

Hours: 39 hours per week, Split Shift (6am–9am & 2pm–6pm, Mon–Fri)

Summary

Zen Educate is recruiting a reliable Site Supervisor for a welcoming primary school in Preston. This is a temp-to-perm position—start via Zen Educate with the opportunity to transition onto a permanent contract directly with the school. This is a full-time, all-year-round role, offering excellent job security during school holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Security: Keyholder duties—unlocking the school at 6am and fully locking up at 6pm.

• Maintenance: General DIY, minor plumbing, carpentry, painting, and basic repairs.

• Safety: Conducting routine checks (fire alarms, water testing) and keeping grounds clear.

• Operations: Overseeing the cleaning team and supervising external contractors.

Note: Holiday hours are typically worked on a more flexible, single-shift basis.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience in caretaking, maintenance, facilities, or a trade is highly desirable.

• Handy, proactive, and excellent at spotting what needs fixing or cleaning.

• Punctual, dependable, and comfortable with early mornings and split shifts.

• A friendly manner—you will be a key part of the school community.

Safeguarding Note: The successful candidate must undergo an Enhanced DBS check and background clearance via Zen Educate prior to starting.
