On behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs we are looking for a number of Skilled Machinists/Inspectors for a 12 month contract based in Washington.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Manufacturing/Operational tasks consistent with the requirements of the team, statutory and company standards, including the manufacture and assembly of components and sub-assemblies
- Participate in process improvement activities and compliance methodologies to satisfy customer needs and cost reduction targets. This may include elements of factory set up and workstation design.
- Follow production plans to meet customer requirements
- Participate in cost reduction/operational improvements to satisfy customer needs
- Contribute to achievement of cell performance targets
- Recognise and perform asset maintenance activities to ensure that equipment and facilities are safe and reliable to a high-performance standard
- Work with other team members to deliver team objectives and requirements, including knowledge sharing and training others
Qualifications and Experience:
- It is a requirement of the role that you will have completed a recognised time-served apprenticeship including National Certificate/ BTEC or equivalent.
- Experience in one or more of the following processes:
- Machining
- Balance
- De-burr
- Broach
- Abrasive Flow Machining (AFM)
- Grind
- A willingness to learn and adapt across a range of product types, processes, machines, and technologies.
- Strong process management skills and ability to comply with operating procedures and apply lessons learned to improvement activities.
- Experience of working in a team environment that requires effective relationship building and training of work colleagues.
Working Pattern:
- 40 hours per week over a rotating 3 shift pattern.
