Social Worker – Children with Disabilities Team
Location: Achieving for Children (Kingston & Richmond)
Pay/Salary: £38.50 per hour (Umbrella)
Office Working: Hybrid
Contract: Locum
We are currently working with Achieving for Children to find an experienced Social Worker for their Children with Disabilities Team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, supportive service working with disabled children, young people, and their families from initial assessment through to adulthood where appropriate.
Working as part of a specialist multidisciplinary team, you’ll manage a varied caseload involving Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children work, while building strong relationships with families and partner agencies to ensure children receive the support they need to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Duties
- Managing a caseload of children and young people with disabilities and complex needs.
- Completing Child and Family Assessments, Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children work.
- Developing and reviewing outcome-focused care and support plans.
- Undertaking direct work with children and families, ensuring the child’s voice is central to all planning.
- Working closely with Education, Health, and other partner agencies to deliver coordinated support.
- Chairing and contributing to multi-agency meetings, reviews, and planning forums.
- Preparing high-quality reports and maintaining accurate case recordings.
- Supporting children through transition planning where appropriate.
- Promoting strengths-based, relationship-focused practice to improve outcomes for children and families.
What you need
- Social Work Qualification.
- Social Work England registration.
- Enhanced DBS (provided by us).
- Experience working within a Children with Disabilities Team or similar statutory Children’s Services team.
- Strong knowledge of Child Protection, Child in Need, safeguarding, and disability legislation.
- Experience completing statutory assessments and care planning.
- Excellent communication, assessment, and partnership working skills.
