An exciting locum opportunity has arisen for an experienced Social Worker to join the Looked After Children Service within Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council. The successful candidate will support children in care to achieve stability, permanence, and positive outcomes.

• Managing a caseload of children and young people subject to care orders.
• Undertaking statutory visits and ensuring care plans remain outcome-focused and child-centred.
• Working alongside foster carers, residential providers, schools, and health professionals.
• Progressing permanence planning including adoption, long-term fostering, and Special Guardianship Orders.
• Completing assessments, care plans, and court reports as required.
• Supporting young people through transitions and pathway planning.
• Participating in looked after reviews and multi-agency meetings.

• Qualified Social Worker with active SWE registration.
• Previous experience within a Looked After Children Team is essential.
• Good knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and complex casework.
• Strong communication and partnership working skills.
