Our client is a well-established and rapidly growing business, supplyin g and servicing electronic equipment for the leisure and gaming industry across the UK.

They are seeking a Software Developer with strong, well-rounded C# / .NET experience to join their small, friendly team, with the opportunity to grow within the company, both professionally and personally.

Hours and Salary:

• Flexible start and finish times
• 37.5 hours FT (predominantly from the office)
• £28,000 – £35,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Write clean, maintainable C# / .NET code: Design and implement new features and backend services, following established coding standards and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues: Investigate and fix bugs or performance issues in live systems, including root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with QA, Frontend Developers, and product / delivery management to scope work, clarify requirements, and ensure features are delivered to spec.
• Participate in code reviews: Review colleagues' pull requests and submit your own for review, helping maintain code quality and consistency across the codebase.
• Support compliance and audit requirements: Ensure software changes meet regulatory standards relevant to a UKGC-licensed gaming environment, including maintaining accurate records for audit purposes.
• Contribute to database design and maintenance: Help design schema changes, write migration scripts, and optimise PostgreSQL performance as products evolve.
• Assist with deployment and release processes: Support the build / release pipeline, including testing in staging environments ahead of production releases.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong C# / .NET experience.
• PostgreSQL, comfortable writing and optimising queries.
• Git for version control.
• Experience writing unit tests.

Experience Needed:

• At least one year of professional experience writing code, ideally in C# and/or .NET, in a commercial or professional setting.
• Experience working as part of a development team, contributing to shared codebases and following team processes (version control, code reviews, etc.).
• Some experience with relational databases, such as writing and optimising SQL queries (PostgreSQL experience is a bonus but not essential).
• Exposure to the full software development lifecycle, from writing and testing code through to release, even if gained through internships, placements, or junior roles.
