Software Implementation Consultant

Jump IT Recruitment

This is a great opportunity for someone who has a technical background and wants to build a career that combines software, problem-solving and working with customers.

You might be a recent Computer Science graduate, have some experience in software or technical support, or simply have a good understanding of SQL and a real interest in technology. You don't need to know everything already – the company is looking for someone who is bright, curious and keen to learn.

What you'll be doing

You'll work with customers to understand what they're trying to achieve and then help turn those requirements into practical software solutions.

Your role will include:

  • Getting involved in conversations with customers to understand their requirements.
  • Helping configure and develop solutions using the company's software platform.
  • Using SQL to work with data and develop business logic.
  • Learning the software platform and becoming someone customers can rely on for advice.
  • Working closely with experienced members of the team and learning from them.
  • Helping test solutions and making sure everything works properly before it reaches the customer.
  • Keeping documentation up to date and making sure projects stay organised.
  • Over time, taking on more responsibility and leading customer discussions yourself.

What we're looking for

We're not looking for someone who ticks every box. More important is having the right attitude and a good technical foundation.

You could be:

  • A recent Computer Science or similar graduate.
  • Someone with 1–2 years' experience in software, technical support, implementation or a related role.
  • Comfortable with the basics of SQL and keen to develop your skills further.
  • Someone who enjoys solving problems and figuring out how things work.
  • Confident communicating with people and able to explain technical ideas without using lots of jargon.
  • Organised, practical and able to pay attention to detail.
  • Interested in how technology can be used to solve real business problems.

Experience with things such as stored procedures, Agile, Jira, Confluence or Zendesk would be useful, but isn't essential.

The most important thing

You don't need to be the finished article.

If you've got the technical basics, enjoy learning, communicate well and want to develop a career where you're working with technology and people, this could be a really good opportunity for you.
