An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Solar Project Manager to join a growing specialist contractor delivering commercial Solar PV and electrical installation projects across the UK.
Working within an established Mechanical & Electrical division, you'll oversee the successful delivery of commercial rooftop solar projects from initial survey through to handover, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
This is an ideal opportunity for a Project Manager with experience in Commercial Solar PV, Renewable Energy or Electrical Projects who is looking to join a business with a strong pipeline of work, genuine career progression and continued investment in its people.

As Solar Project Manager, you'll take ownership of multiple commercial Solar PV installation projects, managing programmes, commercial performance and client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
Working closely with internal design teams, Quantity Surveyors, Site Managers, electrical specialists and subcontractors, you'll ensure every project is delivered efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality, compliance and health & safety.
Projects are delivered across a range of commercial environments including retail, distribution, industrial and large-scale commercial premises.

• Manage commercial Solar PV installation projects from inception through to completion.
• Carry out site surveys alongside consultants, design teams and LV specialists.
• Develop and manage project programmes using Microsoft Project.
• Coordinate design activities and manage the design approval process.
• Work alongside Quantity Surveyors to develop project cost plans and monitor budgets.
• Manage project milestones, reporting progress to senior stakeholders.
• Lead project meetings with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Coordinate site mobilisation with Site Managers and installation teams.
• Monitor programme performance, quality and health & safety throughout delivery.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and in accordance with contractual requirements.
• Manage commercial reporting including project profitability, forecasting, CVRs and resource planning.
• Oversee project completion, commissioning and client handover.
• Ensure all Operation & Maintenance documentation is completed, including test certificates, warranties, commissioning records and product data sheets.
• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships throughout the delivery process.

• Previous experience as a Solar Project Manager, Electrical Project Manager, Renewable Energy Project Manager or similar.
• Proven experience delivering commercial Solar PV installations.
• Knowledge of LV electrical installations and modifications.
• Previous experience managing multiple projects within commercial construction, M&E or renewable energy.
• Strong understanding of project planning, programming and commercial management.
• Experience managing subcontractors, site teams and client relationships.
• Good understanding of CDM regulations and Health & Safety requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet demanding deadlines.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

• Experience delivering retail construction or fit-out projects.
• SMSTS, IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
• Electrical or construction-related qualification.
• Knowledge of NEC or JCT contracts.
