HAB Law is expanding its highly regarded Court of Protection Health & Welfare team due to continued growth and increasing demand across the country. We are now seeking several talented and committed Court of Protection Fee Earners to join our specialist team.

This is an exciting opportunity to undertake meaningful, complex and rewarding legal work within a supportive, forward-thinking firm that values expertise, compassion and career development.

The role:

You will join a highly regarded Court of Protection team and manage your own varied caseload of Health & Welfare matters, including complex cases involving vulnerable individuals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a Court of Protection (Health & Welfare) caseload
  • Applications under Sections 16 and 21A of the Mental Capacity Act 2005
  • Acting in Legal Aid funded matters, including use of CCMS
  • Liaising with the Official Solicitor and other professionals
  • Drafting applications, witness statements, and court documentation
  • Representing clients and providing clear legal advice
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members
  • Contributing to the continued growth of the department
  •  Mental Health Panel Members, or are actively working towards accreditation would be advantageous

Candidates can be based in, or able to cover, the North East/Newcastle, North West, South West, or London regions.

We also have a strong requirement for Supervising Solicitors, especially those with experience supervising both qualified and non-qualified staff, to support the continued growth and development of our team.
