Help Shape the UK’s Energy Future
Solutions Architect Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C
As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the CWA Wide Section.
What will you do?
The CWA is seeking an experienced Enterprise Solution Architect to join the Enterprise Architecture function and develop, document and assure technology solutions across the Civil Works Alliance. This role focuses primarily on application and technology architecture, working closely with the Enterprise Architect Lead, IT, Digital, PMO, Data, Cyber Security, infrastructure teams, suppliers and business stakeholders.
The successful candidate will translate business, functional, non-functional, application, technology and integration requirements into practical solution designs whilst maintaining traceability between requirements, architecture elements, solution decisions and implementation activity. A strong understanding of Microsoft Azure cloud architecture is essential, with the ability to assess and model Azure-based solutions across applications, infrastructure, integration, identity, security, networking, storage and data platforms.
What You Will Do• Develop and ensure solution designs across application and technology domains
• Translate business, functional, non-functional, application, technology, integration and implementation requirements into solution architecture outputs
• Support requirements capture, structuring, validation and traceability
• Maintain traceability between requirements, applications, technology components, integrations, solution decisions, work packages and implementation milestones
• Develop Application Layer views covering components, services, functions, interfaces, integrations, dependencies and lifecycle information
• Develop Technology Layer views covering platforms, infrastructure, cloud services, networks, hosting environments, system software and technology dependencies
• Develop and assess Microsoft Azure architecture views, including applications, infrastructure, identity, security, networking, storage, integration and data services
• Develop solution-level implementation and migration views, including dependencies, sequencing, transition considerations and constraints
• Assess solutions against architecture principles, technology standards, requirements, integration patterns, security requirements and delivery constraints
• Undertake application, technology and integration impact assessments
• Identify and document risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, constraints and requirement gaps
• Support the design of APIs, interfaces, middleware, authentication and system-to-system integrations
