Impact Student Partners is a Non-Medical Helper (NMH) Provider that specialises in supporting students with disabilities including SpLDs, Mental Health Conditions and Neurodiversity. We partner with Higher Education institutions such as Universities and Colleges across the UK. 

The role: 

We are currently recruiting for Specialist Mentor's (Mental Health) based in and around Liverpool that can offer a hybrid approach to supporting students – this means you must be able to provide both online and in-person support.  

Responsibilities: 

As a Specialist Mentor, you will be responsible for supporting students during their studies and helping them to develop effective learning strategies including: 

  • Helping student to stay focused on their studies – especially during times when their mental health may fluctuate  

  • Organisation and time management - planning and structuring workloads 

  • Managing anxiety and stress 

  • Executive functioning support – organisation, task prioritisation, balancing time 

  • Handling the emotional impact of study – such as academic stress or responding to or interpreting feedback 

  • Identifying students that may be at risk – either through disengagement or from various warning signs including actions, thoughts or behaviours 

Experience and qualifications: 

  • You should understand different mental health conditions and how they may impact a student as part of their studies.  
  • It is essential that you hold a relevant professional body membership such as BACP, MBACP, BPS, COSCA, GMC, HCPC, ISPC, IACP, NCPS, NMC, SWE, SCW, NISCC, UKCP or UMHAN. 
  • The role would be well suited for qualified mental health professionals or practitioner such as a counsellor, psychotherapist, psychologist, psychiatric nurse, or mental health nurse. Many of our Specialist Mentors will support students alongside their main role as a mental health practitioner.  

Pay and benefits: 

You will be employed on a flexible temporary basis and can choose to support as many students as you wish. There is a huge amount of flexibility available to you and we offer a competitive hourly rate. 

  • £35 per hour + £4.22 holiday pay (£39.22 per hour rolled up)
