Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only
Hours: Full Time (36 hours per week, Monday to Friday)
Salary: Up to £60000 (Role open to Band 5, 6 and 7 applicants)
Our client, a specialist further education provider, is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to join their multidisciplinary therapy team.
This rewarding role involves supporting young adults aged 19-25 with a range of complex learning and communication needs, including severe and profound learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities and sensory impairments. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping learners develop effective communication skills and maximise their independence and participation.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality Speech and Language Therapy assessments and interventions.
- Develop and implement personalised communication programmes.
- Work collaboratively with education, therapy and support staff to embed communication strategies across the curriculum.
- Provide advice, training and guidance to colleagues and families where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to multidisciplinary planning.
- Support the ongoing development of the therapy service.
About You
Applicants should have:
- A recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy and relevant professional registration.
- A minimum of two years' experience working within a specialist educational or similar setting.
- Experience supporting individuals with severe learning disabilities, profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), autism and complex communication needs.
- A basic understanding of dysphagia management and appropriate referral pathways.
- Excellent communication, organisational and collaborative working skills.
- A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young adults with additional needs.
