Location: M31
Hours: Full Time, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour
Temp to Perm: Permanent opportunity following successful completion of 3 months
Experience Required: 3+ years’ experience in stock control/inventory management

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Stock Controller to join a busy warehouse operation in the M31 area.

As Stock Controller, you will play a vital role in ensuring stock accuracy, maintaining inventory integrity and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the warehouse. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and organised individual looking for a long-term position, with the potential to become permanent after 3 months.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor stock levels across the warehouse and storage facilities.

  • Maintain accurate stock records using the Warehouse Management System (WMS).

  • Carry out regular stock counts and investigate discrepancies.

  • Ensure all stock movements and transactions are recorded accurately and promptly.

  • Generate pick notes and relevant warehouse documentation.

  • Check incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.

  • Investigate shortages, damages and over-deliveries.

  • Monitor batch numbers and dates where applicable, ensuring correct stock rotation using FIFO.

  • Manage returns, damaged stock and write-offs in line with company procedures.

  • Ensure warehouse and storage areas are tidy, clearly labelled and well organised.

  • Follow all warehouse health and safety procedures.

  • Assist with inventory reports and KPI reporting.

  • Maintain accurate product and inventory information within company systems.

  • Identify opportunities to improve stock accuracy and warehouse processes.

  • Provide stock records and supporting documentation for audits when required.

  • Work closely with warehouse, transport and planning teams to ensure efficient operations.

About You

The successful candidate will be:

  • Experienced in stock control/inventory management, with at least 3 years' relevant experience.

  • Numerically confident with strong attention to detail.

  • Flexible with a positive, can-do attitude.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

  • Confident working between the warehouse and office.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • Forklift licence, or willingness to obtain one.

  • Previous experience working within a busy warehouse/distribution environment.
