Pay Rate: £15.00 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30
Contract: 6-Month Rolling Contract

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Stores coordinator to join a global leader in rolling stock manufacturing and overhaul services. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a busy rail maintenance environment, supporting the Eurostar network by ensuring the efficient management, storage, and distribution of materials and components.

Working as part of the logistics and maintenance support team, you will be responsible for controlling stock, processing goods in and out, maintaining accurate inventory records, and supporting engineers with material requirements. The role will also involve the use of electronic stock management systems and occasional forklift truck operation.



Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate stock control using electronic stock management systems.
  • Receive, inspect, store, issue, and dispatch materials and components.
  • Update and maintain materials and order databases.
  • Support technical staff with material identification and ordering requirements.
  • Assemble and pack materials and goods in line with operational demands.
  • Load and unload deliveries safely while ensuring materials are handled without damage.
  • Carry out checks on material handling equipment and technical devices.
  • Conduct regular inspections of storage facilities, ensuring materials are stored correctly and safely.
  • Monitor storage conditions and take corrective action where required.
  • Liaise with approved transport providers to arrange movement of materials between depots and suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal customers and stakeholders.
  • Follow and promote safe systems of work within the depot environment.
  • Comply with all Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (HSQE) procedures and company policies.
  • Support a strong safety culture by identifying and reporting potential hazards and improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, and reporting requirements.


Essential Requirements

  • Previous warehouse and/or logistics experience.
  • Forklift Truck Licence (Reach and/or Counterbalance) - licence does not need to be in date.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good level of computer literacy and experience using stock management systems.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively.
  • Good time management skills and attention to detail.
