Are you an experienced Strategic Commissioner (Learning Disabilities and Autism) looking for an opportunity to shape services that make a real difference? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking Adult Social Care commissioning team at a pivotal point, leading the delivery of key strategic priorities across Learning Disabilities, Autism and Neurodivergence.
 
As the Strategic Commissioner (Learning Disabilities and Autism), you will play a critical role in transforming services, developing innovative commissioning strategies and ensuring local residents receive high-quality support that enables them to thrive. With a strong focus on collaboration, strategic leadership and service improvement, this role offers the chance to influence system-wide change and leave a lasting legacy.
 
Your Role as Strategic Commissioner (Learning Disabilities and Autism):
  • Lead delivery of Learning Disabilities and Autism strategy action plans, driving measurable outcomes
    • Develop an all-age Learning Disabilities Strategy and a new all-age Neurodivergence Strategy
    • Undertake commissioning reviews across Advocacy Services, Residential Respite, Day Opportunities and Shared Lives provision
    • Lead procurement activity, commissioning reviews and tender processes to ensure value and quality
    • Build strong relationships with providers, partners and stakeholders to translate strategy into operational delivery
 
Your Experience as Strategic Commissioner (Learning Disabilities and Autism):
  • Significant strategic commissioning experience within Adult Social Care
    • Extensive knowledge of Learning Disabilities, Autism and wider Neurodivergence agendas
    • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policy and best practice frameworks
    • Proven track record of leading commissioning reviews, service redesign and procurement activity
    • Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation and partnership working skills
