Job Overview

We are recruiting for a Sub Agent (or Senior Site Engineer) to support a major infrastructure construction scheme, working on nighttime operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional to take ownership of key delivery activities, lead site teams and ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. Working for our client, you will play a vital role in the successful delivery of a significant highways project within a collaborative and safety-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Sub Agent/Senior Site Engineer, you will report directly to the Construction Manager and be responsible for managing construction operations during night works. You will oversee engineering teams and subcontractors, coordinate with project disciplines including SHE, Stakeholder, Engineering, Quality and Commercial teams, and ensure all activities are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to required quality standards. The Sub Agent will support planning and procurement activities, manage subcontractor performance, review programmes and forecast costs, maintain accurate site records, and ensure compliance with inspection and testing requirements, risk assessments and method statements. You will also mentor site teams, promote continuous improvement and drive a right first-time approach across all construction activities.

Requirements

Essential

• Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or a related subject, or equivalent vocational qualification
• Valid CSCS Card
• SMSTS or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
• Minimum 4 years' experience in construction delivery
• Experience working within a Principal Contractor environment
• Knowledge of relevant construction standards and procedures
• Temporary Works knowledge and experience
• Knowledge of construction contracts
• Competent with MS Word, Excel and document management systems

Desirable

• Motorway construction experience
• Membership of a recognised construction or engineering institution
