An established global aerospace engineering business is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their quality team and play a key role in improving supplier performance and maintaining high standards across the supply chain.

This is a hands-on role working closely with suppliers and internal teams to drive quality improvement, resolve issues and support the business in achieving its zero-defect objectives.

You’ll be joining an established team, working in a fully site-based environment, with regular travel across the UK and EMEA. The role would suit someone with a strong technical mindset who is keen to get stuck in, take ownership and develop their career within a demanding aerospace environment.  Attitude, technical capability and a willingness to learn are key.

Supplier Quality Engineer
The Role
  • Provide quality support across the supply chain, working closely with suppliers and internal value streams to maintain and improve quality performance.
  • Lead supplier improvement activities, including supplier audits, performance reviews, containment and corrective actions.
  • Investigate non-conformances and drive effective root cause and corrective action using structured problem-solving techniques such as 8D.
  • Review First Article Inspection Reports to AS9102 and support compliance with AS9100 and relevant aerospace/customer requirements.
  • Analyse supplier and quality data, identify areas for improvement and work collaboratively with suppliers to implement sustainable solutions.
 
Supplier Quality Engineer
Essential Experience, Skills & Qualifications
  • Technical/engineering background with experience within a quality, manufacturing or supplier-facing environment.
  • Aerospace experience is highly desirable, with knowledge of AS9100 / AS9102 beneficial.
  • Understanding of quality and problem-solving tools such as 8D, Root Cause Analysis, APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP and Control Plans.
  • Experience or understanding of supplier audits, supplier development or supplier performance improvement.
  • Good communication skills with the confidence to work with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • A proactive, hands-on attitude and willingness to get involved and learn.
  • Ability to challenge effectively, take ownership and drive issues through to resolution.
  • SAP or another MRP system experience would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and aerospace requirements such as EASA Part 21 / Part 145 would be advantageous.
