Supply Chain Manager | Macclesfield | £40,000 - £45,000 + Benefits

Elevation Recruitment Group is proud to be partnering with a leading manufacturer in their search for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join their senior management team in Macclesfield.

This is a great opportunity for a commercially-minded planning, purchasing, or supply chain professional to take ownership of material planning, procurement, inventory management, and production and capacity planning within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You'll work closely with manufacturing, procurement, and internal teams to ensure materials are available when needed, inventory levels are optimised, and production plans align with demand and capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure production and capacity plans across all areas of manufacturing are completed on time and accurately
  • Monitor production status against plan, flagging potential issues, delays, or bottlenecks
  • Analyse material requirements in line with business planning and sales forecasts
  • Monitor inventory levels to optimise stock while minimising excess and obsolete materials
  • Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to align material availability with manufacturing needs
  • Resolve material shortages, quality issues, and supplier-related challenges in a timely manner
  • Oversee purchasing activity including sourcing, negotiating, and supplier management
  • Ensure purchase orders are raised in a timely and effective manner
  • Negotiate cost reductions and manage supplier performance
  • Lead and develop the purchasing and planning team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement

About You:

  • Previous experience in materials and production planning within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management and manufacturing processes
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to forecast demand, manage budgets, and optimise inventory
  • Advanced IT literacy, particularly Excel
  • A confident, clear communicator who can challenge processes and think proactively
  • Resilient and flexible, comfortable operating in a dynamic environment
  • Team leadership experience desirable
