Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Supply Chain Manager to take ownership of their end-to-end supply chain function. This is a key leadership position responsible for driving operational excellence across planning, procurement, inventory management and logistics, while ensuring the business can consistently meet customer demand.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in shaping supply chain strategy, improving operational performance, and leading a high-performing team. Description

The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for;

  • Lead and develop the end-to-end supply chain function, including planning, purchasing, inventory management, warehousing, and logistics.
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies that support operational and commercial objectives.
  • Lead the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring alignment across demand, supply, inventory, capacity, and financial planning.
  • Drive improvements in supply chain performance, service levels, inventory management, and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and achieve key performance indicators, developing and implementing recovery plans where required.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders to ensure continuity of supply and high levels of service.
  • Lead supplier performance management, focusing on cost, quality, lead times, availability, and reliability.
  • Ensure inventory levels are optimised to support business requirements whilst minimising risk and excess stock.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across materials management, stock control, logistics, and supply chain processes.
  • Lead and support business transformation projects, including ERP implementation and supply chain systems improvements.
  • Ensure supply chain activities remain compliant with relevant legislation, policies, and governance requirements.
  • Support new product introduction activities by ensuring supply chain readiness and material availability.
  • Champion sustainability initiatives and identify opportunities to improve environmental performance across the supply chain.
  • Promote a positive culture of health, safety, wellbeing, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the supply chain team to maximise performance, engagement, and professional growth.

Profile

A successful Supply Chain Manager should have:

  • Proven experience in a senior supply chain leadership role within a manufacturing, engineering, industrial, or similar environment.
  • Strong expertise across supply chain planning, procurement, inventory management, and logistics.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing supplier relationships and improving supplier performance.
  • Excellent commercial awareness with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to interpret data and develop practical solutions.
  • Experience leading and developing teams to achieve operational and strategic objectives.
  • A proactive, resilient, and results-driven approach, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience of ERP systems and supply chain transformation projects.
  • CIPS Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience is desirable.

Job Offer

  • Salary of £70,000 to £84,000, dependent on the level of experience.
  • 27 days holiday, plus bank holidays.
  • Permanent position based in Falmouth.
