Supply Chain Manager

Location: Bournemouth

Salary: £38,000-£45,000 DOE plus a commission share

Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday

Tru Talent is delighted to be working with our well-established waste client, who are looking for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to take ownership of their national supplier network.

This is a key commercial role, responsible for supplier relationships, procurement, negotiations, supplier performance and margin optimisation. Working closely with senior management, you'll identify cost-saving opportunities, support tenders and new business, and ensure the business has a competitive and reliable supply chain.

Responsibilities of the Supply Chain Manager:

  • Managing and developing a national network of suppliers
  • Building strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers
  • Identifying and onboarding new suppliers where required
  • Leading supplier negotiations and securing competitive rates and terms
  • Reviewing supplier pricing and identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • Managing annual supplier price increases
  • Monitoring supplier performance, service quality and KPIs
  • Conducting supplier reviews and audits and managing improvement plans
  • Supporting tenders, new business opportunities and contract mobilisation
  • Providing supplier costs and commercial insight to support customer pricing
  • Monitoring supplier-side margins and identifying opportunities to improve profitability
  • Reviewing and improving procurement and supplier management processes
  • Providing commercial analysis and recommendations to senior management
  • Working closely with Sales, Customer Services, Finance and other departments

Needed for the role of Supply Chain Manager:

  • Previous experience in supply chain management, procurement or a similar commercial/operational role
  • Strong supplier relationship management and negotiation skills
  • Good understanding of procurement, pricing, cost control and margin management
  • Commercially minded with a focus on profitability and value
  • Experience managing supplier performance, KPIs and service quality
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proactive, solutions-focused approach
  • Ability to build positive long-term supplier relationships whilst achieving commercial results
  • Confident working with senior management and internal stakeholders
