We're partnering with a fast-growing food business that continues to invest in its people, processes and supply chain capability. Following an internal promotion, they're now looking to add a Supply Chain Planner to their team, creating an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to develop their career within a business where progression is genuinely achievable.
Working closely with the Supply Chain Manager, you'll join a growing planning function and gain exposure across demand planning, supply planning, inventory management and supplier collaboration. For an ambitious planner, this role offers the chance to make a real impact while building the foundations for future career progression.
The Role
This is a hands-on supply chain planning position within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
You'll play a key role in ensuring materials and products are available when needed, balancing stock availability with waste reduction and working capital objectives. You'll work closely with suppliers, procurement, warehouse and operations teams to keep the supply chain running efficiently.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing end-to-end supply and material planning activities.
- Raising, amending and expediting purchase orders.
- Monitoring inventory levels and stock holding values.
- Supporting demand forecasting and production planning activities.
- Working with suppliers to track deliveries and resolve supply issues.
- Helping minimise waste and optimise stock availability.
- Maintaining planning data and producing analytical reports using Excel.
- Supporting continuous improvement projects across the supply chain function.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone with strong planning fundamentals, excellent analytical skills and the ambition to grow alongside the business.
You'll need:
- Experience within Supply Chain Planning, Materials Planning, Inventory Planning
- Previous experience in food manufacturing, fresh produce or FMCG
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large data sets.
- Experience managing supplier relationships and purchase orders.
- Good understanding of inventory management, stock control and planning principles.
- Knowledge of MRP, ERP or planning systems, with SAP exposure seen as advantageous.
- A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership.
- The ambition to progress your career as the business continues to grow.
- SQL experience is beneficial.
