Supply Chain Specialist

We are now looking for a Supply Chain Specialist to join a large manufacturing site in Bristol, where your primary focus is to ensure that the sourcing element of projects and new products are delivered on time, to budget and to the highest quality standards. 

You will represent the procurement function during NPI reviews, working closely with development teams, manufacturing engineers and Group Strategic Sourcing to ensure a capable and appropriate supply chain is designed in. 

This role is a key member of the Procurement team, programme managing and working in partnership with design engineers, manufacturing engineers and the project governance team to ensure that prototype parts are sourced to achieve project requirements and a supply chain is established before product launch that achieves the cost target requirements.

Managing multiple projects concurrently, you should have excellent time management and workload management skills coupled with the technical expertise to lead projects.

You will prepare, produce, and share vendor selection and sourcing board packs, business cases, Project Plans with timescales, critical path points and completion dates.

You will participate in supplier selections, visiting key suppliers during the process and/or set up process until long term arrangements are established; and act as an account manager for the supplier on behalf of the project.

The role is offered full time, fixed term for 12 months, with real potential to become permanent after initial 12 months.  Working onsite, you will work closely with all key departments as mentioned.

Experience and Qualifications:

A purchasing / supply chain qualification such as CIPS Level 4, or significant experience working in a purchasing function is essential for this role.

A strong working knowledge of Supply Chain Management, ERP and MRP systems is required. 

Essential for this role is a track record in an engineering/production environment driven by challenging deadlines and managing changes to ensure quality and delivery objectives are achieved.

Additional Information:

Candidates must be eligible to work and live in the UK without ever requiring sponsorship.  Copies of Passports / Visas will be requested for verification.

Salary / benefits: c£45-60k plus generous benefits
