Central Recruitment is working with one of the UK's largest not-for-profit housing associations. Their work includes providing people with a range of support and services to help them overcome barriers associated with age, homelessness, disability or health.
Our client is currently recruiting for a Support Assistant to work in the Rochdale area at a service that provides supported accommodation for adults aged 18+ affected by homelessness, including those with low to medium mental health needs and/or an offending history.
- 37.5 hours per week
- Working across Monday - Sunday on a rota basis
- Shifts: early and late
- Temporary cover is required until 31st October 2026
- £14.76 per hour (£13.17 per hour, with £1.59 holiday pay)

Key responsibilities:
- Support the day-to-day running of the service
- Assist with the delivery of personalised support and move-on plans
- Provide day-to-day support with tenancy and housing-related matters
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date customer records and case notes
- Support the referral and onboarding process for new customers
- Carry out a range of administrative and operational tasks
- Respond to telephone, reception, and general enquiries
- Promote customer independence by signposting to relevant services
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and risk management procedures
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, customers, and partner agencies
What we’re looking for:
- Experience working with vulnerable and diverse customer groups or individuals with complex needs
- Experience working in a team and communicating positively with other people
- Experience organising tasks and planning accordingly whilst dealing with people
- A team player with a caring, empathetic, flexible and resilient, can-do attitude
- Able to use initiative and have confidence to make decisions
- Basic administrative and IT skills maintain records
Further requirements:
In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Current valid right to work in the UK
- Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)
- A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)
- Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
