Ability Housing is looking for caring, enthusiastic and motivated Support Workers to join our friendly team at Pound House, Dorking.

Our supported housing service provides specialist support for adults with learning disabilities, Down syndrome, autism and behaviours of concern. We support people both within our accommodation-based service and in their own homes across the local community, promoting independence, choice, inclusion and wellbeing.

Previous experience is welcome but not essential. If you have the right values and a willingness to learn, we'll provide all the training and support you need to succeed.

About the Role

As a Support Worker, no two days are the same. You'll work alongside customers to help them live as independently as possible, supporting them to achieve their personal goals and enjoy meaningful lives.

Your role may include:

  • Supporting customers with daily living skills and maintaining their homes.
  • Promoting independence, choice and self-confidence.
  • Supporting customers to access education, employment, volunteering and leisure activities.
  • Encouraging participation within the local community.
  • Supporting customers with appointments, shopping and social activities.
  • Administering medication (following training).
  • Providing personal care where required, always promoting dignity and independence.
  • Working in both our accommodation-based service and supporting customers living independently within the community.

Vacancy Details

We currently have:

  • 4 Full-Time positions (40 hours per week)

The successful candidates will work on a rolling rota, including:

  • Days
  • Evenings
  • Weekends
  • Bank Holidays
  • Sleep-in shifts

A full UK driving licence would be desirable due to the community-based aspects of the role.

Salary

£26,507.98 per annum (40 hours)

£12.71 per hour
