Are you looking for a support role where you can build a meaningful working relationship with one person and genuinely contribute to their independence?
We are recruiting Female Rehabilitation Support Workers to join a small, dedicated team supporting a young woman with a physical disability in Cambridge.
This is not traditional domiciliary care. You won't be travelling between multiple clients or completing short care calls. Instead, you'll work consistently with one person, supporting her to live an active, independent and fulfilling life at home and within the community.
π The role
Your role will focus on enabling rather than doing for.
You'll encourage independence, choice and autonomy while providing the right level of support when required.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting independence and daily living skills
- Providing personal care sensitively and respectfully
- Supporting medication and health needs
- Supporting social, leisure and community activities
- Accompanying the client to appointments and activities
- Supporting routines and weekly plans
- Working alongside therapists and other professionals
- Supporting agreed rehabilitation and therapy programmes
- Driving the client's Motability vehicle
- Maintaining clear and accurate care records
- Identifying and reporting changes or concerns
- Working collaboratively with the wider support team
You'll become part of a consistent team where getting to know the person you support, understanding how she communicates and recognising what matters to her are central to providing excellent support.
